Research Internship in Clinical Psychology

Dear psychology students,


A research internship is available in the Department of Psychopathology and Clinical Intervention, University of Zürich, beginning immediately.



This study assesses trauma and resilience in Irish older adults with experiences of childhood abuse and maltreatment, specifically focusing on the factors associated with resilience, vulnerability, and coping (e.g., individual, social, context, cultural aspects). Qualitative interviews have been conducted with N=12 participants and we are currently in the data analysis stage.


Your task:

  • Interview transcription: Working closely with the members of the research team you will listen to interviews and transcribe them into a word document.
  • Assistance with interview data coding: Based on your knowledge of the interviews (from transcription) you will assist the research team in the development and verification of the qualitative coding system.



  • Good level of English (written, listening, and spoken)
  • Reliable, motivated, and hard-working
  • Able to work well independently and within a team
  • Good with Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel)
  • Previous experience with audio transcription would be beneficial (but not a necessity)
  • Basic understanding of scientific research (research methods) in psychology
