What is this survey about?
With this survey we hope to gain a better understanding of different health and well-being outcomes following experiences of stress or adversities. We are particularly interested in factors which can influence coping and resilience. This survey will therefore ask different questions about health and well-being, resilience, stress and adversities, and coping abilities.
We are interested in a range of stress and adversities. We are also specifically interested in learning more about coping with stress and adversities from individuals who lived in institutions in Ireland during their childhood or adolescence.
Who can take part?
Any person from Ireland who is currently aged 50 years or older can take part in this survey.
More detailed information on this study can be found within the survey (see the survey link).
Interested in doing an interview?
We will also be doing a few short interviews with some people. In these interviews we would like to learn a bit more about people’s experiences with stress, coping abilities, resilience, and maintaining their health and well-being.
This is not part of the survey, it is a separate interview and it is optional. You do not have to do both the survey and the interview, but you can choose to do the interview if you would like to.
The number of interview places is limited and so if you would like to take part in a short interview please indicate this during the survey on the informed consent form (by ticking the box on the consent form). You can also contact someone in the research team (using the contact details below) if you would like to discuss the survey or interview.
